PC Home Help Terms and Conditions
Please note, this service is an advice and remote-assistance based service which does not include any provision for on-site visits. This service is not an insurance policy.
1. The PC Home Help service (The Service) is provided exclusively by ETL (Effing Technology Limited whose registered head office is at 26a Fore Street, St Marychurch, Torquay TQ1 4RW) to the above-named individual (The Client) and provides The Service for use only with the computers within their immediate household. The following paragraphs describe The Service, the terms and conditions and any limitations. 2. The Service is designed to assist The Client by offering general computer help and assistance via e-mail, telephone or remote connection to your computer which may include questions related to the Operating System (Windows or Mac OS) or certain popular applications such as Microsoft Office applications. Tuition on a certain subject or program may be requested by The Client and subject to ETL staff having the relvant experience, such tuition may be provided within the scope of The Service. 3. The Service does not include provision for any on-site work by an ETL member of staff. If such services are required by The Client, charges will be made at ETL’s normal rates. 4. The Service may carry a maximum limitation relating to the amount of time in total that ETL will provide assistance over the life of The Service. If The Client exceeds the specified maximum amount of time, ETL shall be deemed to have met all of its obligations under this agreement and shall not be required to provide any further assistance unless a new Service is purchased by The Client. 5. To request assistance under the terms of this cover, The Client should contact 01803 50 50 50 or e-mail mail@effing.co.uk . 6. Whilst ETL will endeavour to provide prompt assistance The Client should note that this is a residential service which does not offer a service level guarantee or response time undertaking. ETL generally aims to provide The Service 7 days a week but it is acknowledged that service availability may be limited during bank holiday periods and other busy periods beyond our control. 7. Whilst ETL will endeavour to provide assistance The Client should note that it may not always be possible to resolve certain problems, tasks or otherwise satisfy a request for assistance due to matters beyond ETL’s control. No service-level guarantees will be offered. 8. Except for simple generic enquiries The Service is dependant on The Client having a working broadband internet connection on the computer for which assistance is being requested. This is to allow ETL staff to connect remotely to Your computer to assist You using our remote assistance software. If for whatever reason you are not connected to the internet via broadband ETL may have no option but to decline your request for assistance or may simply provide a limited generic response at its sole discretion. 9. To provide assistance under the scope of The Service ETL will nearly always require you to accept a remote connection request to allow ETL to access your computer. To facilitate this ETL shall issue you with a PIN code that you should enter at our web site (www.effing.co.uk). Your entry of said PIN code shall be considered Your agreement that we may connect remotely to your computer for the purpose of assisting you with your request. 10. For peace of mind and clarity, please note that when ETL staff disconnect from a remote connection to The Client’s computer, verbal confirmation will be given. At such stage, it is no longer technically possible for ETL staff to connect to The Client’s computer unless the process described in the previous clause is repeated. 11. ETL shall not be liable to provide any aspect of The Service to The Client until payment has been received in full for The Service. 12. ETL are unable to provide refunds for The Service once it has been paid for. 13. Neither ETL nor any of its directors, employees or other representatives will be liable for loss or damage arising out of or in connection with the use of The Service. This is a comprehensive limitation of liability that applies to all damages of any kind, including (without limitation) compensating, direct, indirect or consequential damages, loss of data, income or profit, loss of or damage to property and claims of third parties. 14. You acknowledge and agree that You are not relying on any oral or written representation, statement or understanding by any of Our employees, agents, sub-contractors or representatives other than as expressly set out in this any related agreements.
